Responsible for the efficient and effective operational oversight, management, and execution of all middle and back-office trade support functions across complex treasury products
Ensure operational compliance, risk management, process enhancement, and effective utilization of team resources.
Ensure accurate and timely execution, settlement, and reconciliation of all trade types under the section’s mandate (including FX, Equity Derivatives, OTC Derivatives, Linked Deposits, and BEA Investments)
Review and authorize payment instructions to ensure financial integrity and minimize settlement risk.
Maintain effective monitoring of investment portfolio operations and performance.
Serve as the primary operational collaborator with internal Traders, BEA China counterparts, and external Interbank counterparts.
Process and settle OTC derivatives specifically for Private Banking clients, ensuring high service quality.
Provide accurate and comprehensive regular reports to Senior Management regarding operational status and performance.
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the section, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently\
Monitor and manage section-related projects, ensuring strict adherence to project plans and timelines
Review, document, and implement continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate operational risk.
Ensure all work procedures documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. · Timely follow up and report on all exceptional issues encountered with counterparties.
Manage, supervise, and lead the operations team, ensuring the team's output meets the required standard of the bank
Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization of manpower and achieve strategic objectives
Monitor team workload and ensure a balanced distribution of tasks. · Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship
Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team promptly.
Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity; and
Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work.
Requirements
Degree Holder, preferably major in Economics, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications is an advantage;
Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in financial services operations, with a mandatory focus on leading and managing Trade Support or Middle Office functions within a major financial institution.
Knowledge of the entire trade life cycle, settlement mechanics, and operational complexities associated with Equity Derivatives (including settlement and reconciliation), Structured Products (e.g., Linked Deposits, Structured Swaps, OTC Derivatives), FX, and investment assets. Comprehensive understanding of banking regulations (local and international) related to these products.
Strong technical knowledge of the Bank’s products services and systems;
A team leader with good communication skills and risk awareness;
Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese + Mandarin)
