Manulife is seeking for a talented individual who will assists the Chief Risk Officer in overseeing operational risk management activities for life businesses in Hong Kong & Macau. Particularly this position is accountable for on-going monitoring of various top risks and launching of key risk management initiatives or campaigns. The role plays an important part in the Risk Management family, to collaborate with other business functions in performing risk and impact analysis and assess potential implications / enhancements to existing controls and business processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other functions to promote risk culture throughout the organization
  • Implement the operational risk management framework and operational resilience program for the organization
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks arise in project / change initiatives
  • Review and challenge the risk deliverables submitted by business functions
  • Establish risk monitoring processes to track the effectiveness of risk controls
  • Provide independent oversight & challenge on the Risk and Control Self-Assessment conducted by first line of defense
  • Support the enhancement of risk management infrastructure technology such as Archer
  • Ongoing enhancement of various operational risk management tools
  • Prepare materials for general training and other risk-awareness initiatives to promote risk culture

Required qualifications:

  • Degree holder with approximately 10+ years’ experience in operational risk management gained in insurance or financial services industry
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, attention to details and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to work with technical staff, project managers and management team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Applicants with experience in Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) is an advantage
  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese
