Manage and resolve all internal and external enquiries and complaints promptly, ensuring adherence to the Bank’s service standards.
Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders to provide operational support and ensure the smooth execution of clearing-related tasks.
Ensure the smooth operation of the section, including Remittance Clearing (CHATS/SWIFT), Cheque Clearing, e-Cheque, and cheque book printing.
Optimize Straight Through Processing (STP) rates and manage end-to-end workflows to meet strict regulatory and internal cut-off times.
Liaise with HKICL and HK Securities Clearing Ltd regarding system updates and operational issues.
Oversee the daily reconciliation of clearing suspense accounts and ensure the timely resolution of all outstanding entries.
Control security policies and operational procedures in the cheque imaging system and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all system enhancements.
Maintain and test the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure operational resilience for critical clearing functions.
Resolve issues arising from clearing operations with HKICL and branches, and conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Handle internal and external enquiries and/or complaint cases.
Supervise subordinates and ensure their work meets the Bank’s required standards, and appraise their performance.
Assist supervisors in improving subordinate engagement and strengthening communication through regular team talks, listen-up sessions, and cross-product training within and across teams.
Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines, and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity.
Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures, and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate, and monitor risks involved in day-to-day work.
Participate actively in ad-hoc projects for the department and/or the Bank as required.
Requirements
University graduate, preferably major in Banking, Economics, Finance; OR
HKIB or equivalent professional qualifications is an advantage.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the banking industry, including 3 years of supervisory experience in operations support;
Sound technical knowledge of clearing and settlement operations;
Demonstrated ability to manage a team and ensure service excellence;
Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin);
Good understanding of internal controls, banking policies, and regulatory requirements;
Familiarity with the Bank’s products and clearing-related services;
Strong leadership qualities, effective communication skills, and sound risk judgment.
Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
