Job purpose:
The core purpose of this role is to ensure the proper implementation of financial management procedures in Finance Department and to monitor and improve financial management of other departments/units with key responsibilities as below. He or she will work closely with Head of Finance and Finance Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Finance Management and robust financial control framework for Hong Kong Red Cross.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Finance Department subordinates in the daily operations of accounting functions.
- Provide accurate, reliable and timely financial data, schedules and reports for internal and external requirements.
- Ensure compliance with required governmental and organizational financial policies and procedures.
- Supervise donations handling to ensure the correctness and validity of donation receipts and income reporting to stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate with banks on regular treasury functions on interest yield and liquidity.
- Maintain effective relationship with accounting system vendor, bankers and auditors to enable reliable accounting system, smooth treasury transactions and audit.
- Support annual statutory and event audit to ensure smooth and proper completion.
- Support finance system design and testing to ensure smooth implementation
- Provide coaching, guidance and financial management training to Finance Department subordinates and stakeholders of Hong Kong Red Cross.
- Support Head of Finance and Finance Managers to achieve planned financial and organizational management and development.
- Ad hoc tasks as assigned by Finance Manager and Head of Finance Management
Requirements:
- Diploma/ Degree holder with major in Accountancy or above
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, 2 of which are at supervisory level
- In-depth knowledge of principles of accounting and professional accounting standards
- Integrity
- Proficient in computerized accounting system and MS Office
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
- Understand and apply the HKRC Code of Conduct and Principles of HKRC Movement
- Understand the operation environment and culture of nonprofit organizations
- Good interpersonal, teamwork and supervision skills
- Good command of English and Chinese
- Less experience may also be considered as Finance Executive
