Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our Personal Banking Division as Head of Strategy & Business Planning. Reporting to General Manager and Head of Personal Banking Division, this role will serve as the key strategic partner to the Division, driving long-term growth, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness.
As the leader of the newly established Strategy & Business Planning Department (SBPD), you will be responsible for formulating divisional strategies, directing business planning and financial governance, and driving strategic business decisions through data-driven intelligence. You will play a pivotal role in translating strategic priorities into actionable initiatives, while ensuring effective performance management, risk oversight, and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of divisional strategies and business plans in alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives, ensuring effective implementation across business units and functions.
- Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management to optimize business growth and profitability.
- Provide strategic insights and business intelligence to support executive decision-making and resource allocation.
- Monitor divisional performance through robust KPI frameworks and management reporting.
- Champion the use of data analytics to identify business opportunities, enhance customer outcomes, and support informed decision-making.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the Bank to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain effective oversight of strategic and operational risks.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline. An MBA and/or professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, CPA) will be an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services, including at least 8 years in senior leadership or management roles.
- Strong background in strategic planning, financial management, business performance management, and retail banking.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate strategy into measurable business outcomes.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin.
