Grading: Manager
Manage the full lifecycle of fixed income product lines, including bonds, certificates of deposit (CDs), and other fixed income instruments. Focus on both primary and secondary market product sourcing, due diligence, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product compliance, competitiveness, and alignment with the Bank’s wealth management strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product management process for bonds, CDs, and fixed income products, including product origination, due diligence, structuring, compliance review, and system onboarding.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessment on issuers and underlying assets across global markets, with a focus on overseas fixed income products (e.g., US Treasuries, Eurobonds, Asian investment-grade and high-yield bonds).
- Evaluate and introduce new product issuers/providers, negotiate distribution agreements, and oversee operational workflows to ensure seamless product launch and lifecycle management.
- Perform regular product reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., SFC, HKMA), and update product risk ratings, yield, tenor, and other key attributes.
- Provide expert product support and investment insights to relationship managers and wealth advisors, helping clients navigate fixed income investment opportunities and risks.
- Monitor market trends, interest rate movements, credit events, and liquidity conditions to proactively adjust product offerings and trading strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (compliance, legal, operations, IT) to enhance system capabilities, including fixed income trading, pricing, and robo-advisory features with AI integration.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on product performance, portfolio exposure, and market developments for management review.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with top-tier bond issuers, underwriters, and liquidity providers to build a robust and diversified fixed income product shelf.
Requirements
- Degree holder or above in business, finance, economics, or related disciplines.
- Professional qualifications in Finance (e.g., CFA, FRM) or investment discipline will be a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of solid working experience in offshore fixed income roles (4 years or above preferred), preferably in private banking, wealth management, or global markets within banking or financial institutions.
- Solid knowledge of fixed income products (bonds, CDs, credit derivatives) and their valuation, risk characteristics, and regulatory framework.
- Proven experience in product due diligence, issuer evaluation, and end-to-end product onboarding.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Agile and adaptable to dynamic market and business needs.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in using AI tools; prior experience in system enhancement or digital transformation projects is a plus.
