Trader / Senior Trader (Equities & Fixed Income), Asset Management Firm

Key Responsibilities

• Trade Execution: Execute equity orders for portfolios (primarily HK, US, and Stock Connect markets). Ensure optimal execution efficiency, effectively managing transaction costs and minimizing market impact costs.

• Multi-asset Coverage: Assist in the execution of fixed income (bond) trades, and provide support to investment managers with price discovery and Request for Quotes (RFQ) as needed.

• Market Surveillance: Monitor real-time market dynamics, order flows, block trades, and other market sentiment indicators. Provide timely market color and feedback to the investment team.

• Broker Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with brokers/dealers. Periodically evaluate broker performance, execution quality, and commission structures.

• System & Reporting: Proficiently operate trading terminals (e.g., Bloomberg, EMS) and internal Order Management Systems (OMS). Responsible for daily trade reconciliation, trade confirmation reports, and relevant operational data analysis.

• Compliance & Risk Management: Strictly adhere to Hong Kong SFC regulations and internal compliance policies, ensuring all trading activities are conducted in full compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related disciplines. CFA/FRM qualification is highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of trading experience in equities, gained at a buy-side asset management firm or hedge fund.

• Professional Capabilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of equity markets (HK/US/China).

  • Familiarity with algorithmic trading and execution logic such as VWAP/TWAP.

  • Experience in fixed income trading (e.g., sovereigns, credit) is highly preferred.

• Skills:

  • Strong data analysis skills. Proficiency in Excel VBA or Python is an added advantage.

• Personal Qualities: Highly responsible with the ability to perform under pressure. Strong professional ethics and excellent interpersonal and cross-department collaboration skills.
