Finance Data Quality Manager

This is a specialized and critical role within our Financial Management Department. Unlike a centralized data governance function, this position is embedded at the heart of financial reporting and control. Your primary mission is to ensure the absolute accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data from transactional source systems to the general ledger and all internal and external reports. You will be the key bridge between Finance, IT, and business units, translating data governance principles into financial integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Finance Data Governance Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust data governance framework specifically tailored for critical financial data domains (e.g., General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Capital, Regulatory Reporting);

• Financial Data Standards & Quality: Define, implement, and monitor data standards, quality rules, and controls for key financial data elements. Establish a closed-loop process for measuring, analyzing, and remediating data quality issues that impact financial closes, management accounting, and regulatory submissions;

• End-to-End Data Lineage & Control: Map and document the complete data lineage for critical financial reports and metrics, from source systems through transformations to final reporting;

• Regulatory & Audit Readiness: Serve as the primary data governance point of contact for internal and external audits, as well as for financial regulatory reporting (e.g., Basel III/IV, Capital Adequacy and Liquidity Coverage Ratio). Ensure data used for reporting is fully traceable and defensible;

• Business-IT Collaboration: Partner closely with Finance users (Controlling, Reporting, Treasury) and IT teams to design and improve data flows, system interfaces, and data models within the finance ecosystem (e.g., ERP, sub-ledgers, consolidation tools);

Requirements

• Academic Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA, MSc in Finance) is a strong plus;

• Professional Credentials: A professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred and often considered essential;

• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience;

• Finance Domain Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience in banking/financial services finance functions (Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Product Control, Treasury) or from a "Big 4" accounting firm's financial services audit/advisory practice;

• Data Management Experience: Proven track record (3+ years) in data governance, data quality management, or finance system/data transformation projects;

• Technical & System Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of financial data flows and accounting principles (IFRS 9, GAAP);

• Proficiency with major ERP/Financial Systems (SAP FI/CO, Oracle Financials) and cons.
