Senior Settlement Manager (Treasury Operations) - Clearing & Settlement Operations

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and controlling the operations of their Sections/Teams; making sure timely and accurate reports and returns are provided to regulators and/or related parties
• Managing all daily transactions and making sure all relevant controls are performed accurately and properly according to the Bank’s standard procedures and compliance requirements
• Ensure project implementation cost is within the approved budget
• Provide quality support for our business partners
• Handle external/internal customer’s complaints.
• Assist his/her supervisor on handling general treasury settlement related matters.
• Liaise with other parties on operation needs.
• Participate in testing
• Plan ahead for the projects/initiatives, and identify potential risks 
• Communicate with users, ITD and other parties involved during the projects
• Monitor the status of the projects 
• Closely monitor the data maintenance in Treasury Operations system.
• Assist the Section to streamline the workflows.
• Manage the subordinates and ensure their works meet the required standard of the bank and appraise his/her performance.
• Develop the subordinates’ engagement and strengthen communications by regular team talk, listen-up and cross product training within and across other teams
• Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity; and
• Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work
• Assist and participate actively in any ad-hoc projects for the department/Bank as required.
• Ensure related procedure manuals and business contingency plan on products supported by their sections/teams are ready and updated in line with Bank’s policy/guidelines
• Ensure procedure manual for new products are available within reasonable time after products launched

Requirements

• Degree Holder, preferably major in Economics, Finance/Full Membership of Treasury Markets Association or equivalent professional qualifications is an advantage;
• Over 5-year experience in banking sector covering the following:
• At least 3 years in managerial position of Treasury Operations;
• Sound knowledge in Treasury Products as well as its operation process and able to lead a team to ensure excellent services are provided;
• Good understanding of Bank and Regulatory policies, procedures, practices and rules;
• Strong technical knowledge of the Bank’s products services and systems;
• A team leader with good communication skills and risk awareness;
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
