Trader, Money Market (Global Market Department)

Responsibilities:

• Execute trades in money market instruments including Treasury bills. commercial paper, certificates of deposit(CDs), repurchase agreement(repos), federal funds, and short-term municipal bonds.

• Liquidity Risk Management: Monitor, assess and calculate liquidity risk metrics(excluding regulatory reporting), and propose optimization strategies to align with the bank's risk appetite.

• Intraday Liquidity Monitoring: Track real-time balances of clearing accounts and intraday position fluctuations. Utilize money market instruments(e.g., interbank borrowing, repos, FX swaps) and central bank facilities(e.g., HKMA's intraday repo and discount window) to ensure settlement safety and liquidity adequacy.

• Nostro accounts balance management: Manage interbank borrowing, repo agreements, and negotiable certificate of deposit(NCD) issuances to maintain liquidity risk indicators within target ranges and ensure operational stability.

• Deposit Certificate Issuance: Execute issuance of bank deposit certificates and related instruments to diversify funding sources and enhance capital efficiency.

• Perform ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

• Degree holder or above in Finance or a related discipline

• 3 years experience in bond dealing , extensive and solid knowledge of fixed income markets.

• Profession of relevant qualifications for RI licensing under HKMA and TMA membership is preferred or being expected within the first year of joining.

• Effective at multi-tasking and able to meet tight timelines

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua

• Proficient in MS Office applications including Chinese word processing
