Operational Control Manager - Wealth Management Operations

Responsibilities

• Be a team member of Operational Control team in Wealth Management Operations Department (WMOD) to conduct analytical assessments and opining the operational control environment.
• Work with respective units in WMOD to develop Private Banking operational manuals, guidelines and control measures to ensure compliance with all policies, rules, guidelines, requirements prescribed by regulators as well as the Bank.
• Formulate & Conduct Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) on operational processes within WMOD
• Perform gap analyses between existing practices and new regulatory/ internal requirements, and work with stakeholders to address and close the gaps.
• Provide support to rectify operational issues/ exceptions as identified by 1.5 / 2.0 Line of Defence, internal/external auditors and regulators.
• Assist to manage customer complaints in accordance with internal policies,  guidelines & regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and proper resolution.
• Prepare management reports on risk management and compliance related areas.
• Identify and report on regulatory irregularities, breach of guidelines and potential compliance risk
• Perform any ad hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or other related discipline
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking sector, with minimum of 3 years of experience related to operational risk management, internal control and risk governance in financial institutions / consultancy firms is preferable
• Professional qualifications (e.g. ACOP, CCOP-IIC or equivalent qualification from a recognized professional body) would be advantageous
• Strong understanding of banking operations and controls, and operational risk management
• Familiarity with compliance control in Wealth Management is a plus
• Independent, self-motivated and detail-oriented and capable of working efficiently under pressure
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Relevant HKIB qualification would be an advantage
