Business Function

Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Key Responsibilities

·Ensure transaction activities of the section are completed as per established procedures and guidelines, within specified standards of quality, agreed service level, turnaround time and industry cut-off time

·Keep abreast of business developments and banking practices, laws & guidelines and monitor the implementation of all activities initiatives of the department, e.g. business continuity management, operational procedures, policies and guidelines, specific and job related training, ISO certification, system enhancement, etc.

·Act as a main contact point to effectively communicate with internal departments, customers, service providers on relevant inquiries, matters or complaints

·Assist the department head to develop action plan to improve productivity and to make recommendations on modification of procedures and application of technology to enhance operational efficiency and minimise operational risk

·Lead, coach and develop the team members to achieve the section’s goals and to complete their assignments

·Adhere, provide guidance and ensure subordinates comply with the rules, guidelines and regulatory requirement of the Bank, HKMA, MAS, etc pertaining to the operations

·Escalate exceptional/outstanding/suspicious transactions to VP Clearing Operations and other relevant parties for necessary action per the T&O Significant Incident Notification Protocol Guideline

·Promote and encourage open and good communication amongst all levels of staff

Requirements

·University Graduate or above

·At least 5 year’s relevant working experience with 3 year’s experience of people management

·Sound experience of banking operations and practices

·Conversant with the clearing house’s clearing requirements and rules

·Good knowledge of clearing item processing

·Excellent leadership and management capabilities

·Self-motivated with strong analytical mind and creative thinking

·Strong senses of risk controlling and management

·Sound interpersonal and communication skills

·Good problem-solving skills and negotiation techniques

·Sound knowledge and understanding of banking and IT Operations and practices

·Good in both written and spoken English

·Good presentation skills

·Excellent PC knowledge and skills
