Job Purpose:
Maintain the capital management systems and controls of the Bank and ensure that the Bank is always in compliance with the regulatory requirements and have respective measures to safeguard the Bank’s capital position under stress. To achieve this, the candidate will need to work closely with different relevant units, including the business units and balance sheet planning unit.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for the following functions for the Bank and its subsidiary banks and ensure their effectiveness:-
- Perform the regular ICAAP exercise of the Bank and assess the respective capital requirements;
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to perform the regular review of the Bank’s Risk Appetite Statement and Tolerance Limits;
- Perform the regular review of the Bank’s Recovery Plan;
- Provide a regular update to the Board/Board-level Committee or Senior Management on the Bank’s capital position under various stress tests;
- Conduct regular stress testing (including climate risk stress test) and review the relevant assumptions in accordance to the change in the Bank’s business profile and prevailing market situation;
- Oversee the banking subsidiaries and ensure that they can meet the Group’s management and reporting standards; and
- Perform any ad hoc tasks assigned by the Department Head and Senior Management.
Incumbent Requirements:
- Over 7 years’ experience in the risk management of treasury and asset and liability management related areas in banking industry;
- Hands-on experience in database management, Excel and statistical tools, e.g. SQL, VBA, Python, SAS, etc.;
- University degree in Finance, Risk Management or equivalent; holder of CFA or FRM an added advantage;
- Holder of professional qualifications (e.g. CSTMP / CTMP) would be an advantage;
- Sound knowledge in ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Stress Testing, as well as the respective HKMA regulatory requirements, etc.;
- Good problem solving capability with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
