Product Manager (Insurance Specialist) - Private Banking

E.Sun Private Banking Hong Kong is seeking a high-calibre professional to join the Product & Investment (P&I) team as an Insurance Specialist. The role is responsible for developing and managing the bank’s insurance platform across a hybrid agency and broker model, while ensuring strong product governance, suitability standards, and regulatory alignment with IA/HKMA requirements

Job Responsibilities

Channel Strategy & Segmentation

• Implement channel strategy (agency vs broker) to drive insurance growth
• Develop client segmentation, suitable insurance solutions based on client needs

Product Governance & Lifecycle Management

• Conduct product due diligence (assessment of risks, costs, features, suitability)
• Maintain and manage the approved product universe across both channels
• Manage end‑to‑end lifecycle for agency insurance products (approval to sunset)
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations for governance and execution

Training & Advisory Support

• Deliver training on products, market trends, and regulatory requirements
• Equip frontline with tools and materials for effective client communication
• Provide advisory support to RMs on complex client cases.

Partner & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with insurers and brokers
• Monitor partner performance (underwriting, competitiveness, service quality).
• Act as key liaison between front office, control functions, and external partners

Market Intelligence & Performance Monitoring

• Track market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging risks
• Analyse business performance and channel mix to drive improvements
• Provide timely market insights to support advisory and sales

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with 7+ years of insurance/product management experience in private bank, insurer or broker
• Professional qualifications (e.g. CFP, FLMI) are strongly preferred
• IIQE qualified (or exempt) and eligible for HK insurance licensing
• Strong exposure to HNW/UHNW insurance solutions and cross-border solutions
• Solid knowledge of life, ILAS, protection, annuities, underwriting, and premium financing
• Familiar with product governance, due diligence, and suitability frameworks
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented, high integrity, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
