Job Description
Purpose of the role
The role is responsible for the financial reporting and accounting oversight of non-bank subsidiaries, including the preparation of financial statements, management of accounting records, and coordination with external auditors. The incumbent will also oversee fixed assets and leases accounting, and support property & unlisted equities valuation.
What you will be doing:
Financial Reporting and Control of Non-Bank Subsidiaries
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for non-bank subsidiaries and ensure timely submission of financial information to Head Office, management, and regulators.
Prepare statutory financial statements, audited accounts, management reports, disclosures, and regulatory returns in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process for non-bank subsidiaries.
Perform financial analysis and provide commentary on key business and financial performance variances for management review.
Execute financial control activities and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial reporting.
Fixed Assets and Unlisted Investments
Manage accounting, valuation, reporting, and record keeping for unlisted investments, including journal postings, analysis, and annual confirmation exercises.
Oversee accounting and reporting for bank premises, including asset capitalization, depreciation, valuation, analysis, and disposals.
Manage accounting records for fixed assets, including decoration & fixtures, furniture & equipment, and motor vehicles, ensuring accurate depreciation, analysis, and disposal accounting.
Prepare Head Office, regulatory (HKMA), and financial statement disclosures relating to fixed assets and investments.
Others
Participate in system enhancement projects and process streamlining initiatives;
Participate in ad hoc projects assigned by supervisor.
Who are we looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably from business, accounting, or related discipline with HKICPA
2-5 years’ practical experience in financial reporting or management reporting in a reputable financial institution or sizable organisation. Experience in Big 4 or accounting firms a plus.
Knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting processes.
Communication, interpersonal & presentation skills in both Chinese and English. Good command of MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
