Job Summary
This position manages Investment Operations Section of OPC by planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling the full range of transaction processing activities.
Investment Product coverage: Securities Settlement, Corporate Action Settlement, IPO, Mutual Fund, Bond and Structure Note
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to support the operation services of Investment Operations Section in achieving operational efficiency and effectiveness for Retail and Wealth Management Client
- Manage & monitor the implementation of new systems, launch of products, and departmental & cross-departmental projects in accordance to the business strategies
- Drive automation, process optimisation and applying new technology solution to day to day operation
- Develop and implement comprehensive operational procedures, and ensure control and compliance with operational risk management standards, regulatory requirements, and service agreement in all areas of the team
- Liaise with different stakeholders (i.e. client, insurance companies, regulatory bodies, and etc) in supporting the daily operational activities & resolve any operational issues of the team
- Handle compliant, requests, enquiries from different internal and external stakeholders including internal audit, Compliance, regulatory bodies requests, and etc
- Support the business as the subject matter expert to launch the new investment products, services, and distribution channels
- Work collaboratively with different stakeholders and to identify the best practices, and contribute the success of the Bank
- Define & implement KPI measurement across the team & use the data for operations and performance management
- Ensure competency across the team of the necessary skills and knowledge to complete all required tasks
- Identify area of improvement, development and opportunities of the team, and drive productivity & operational excellence
- Responsible for the overall resources and performance planning of the team
Requirements
- Degree holder preferable in Business, Finance, Accounting or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum 15 years of relevant banking experience with at least 5 years management experience in relevant investment operations
- Sound knowledge in process improvement methodologies plus demonstrated experience in effective control and change management in operational environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills;
- Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of different financial instruments & operations flow
- Practical knowledge of operating risk, compliance policies and procedures
- Strong problem solving and influencing skills
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Familiar with the regulatory requirements (i.e. HKMA & SFC) & markets practices
