The University now invites application for the following position to work in the Research Project “When AI Meets ESG Reporting: A Practical Framework for What Machines Can and Cannot Do”:

Part-time Research Assistant – Department of Accountancy
(Ref: PTRA (ACY – GRSG(A)-2526-A07) 2026-7-10)

Responsibilities:

  • conduct literature reviews on global and local ESG trends, business ethics, and regulatory frameworks;
  • collect, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative ESG data from corporate disclosures and financial reports;
  • support the preparation, drafting, and editing of academic papers, policy briefs, and presentations; and
  • provide administrative and project coordination support.

Applicants should:

  • possess a recognised bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (current postgraduate students are also welcome to apply);
  • possess strong analytical, qualitative, and quantitative research skills;
  • have a good command of written and spoken English;
  • possess good interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills; and
  • have a self-motivated attitude and the ability to work independently under a flexible part-time arrangement.

Familiarity with carbon auditing, life cycle analysis, or GHG accounting (Scope 1, 2, and 3) will be a definite advantage.

This employment is on a 4-month contract. The appointee is expected to assume duty in July.
