Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong within Rooms Division in Hong Kong, the Assistant Housekeeper will be responsible in supervising the day-to-day housekeeping operation and ensuring that the standards, policies and procedures are met at all times. The Assistant Housekeeper reports to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
As Assistant Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper to organise and maintain a high degree of excellence in guest rooms and public areas of the Hotel
- Perform daily inspection of all public areas, guest rooms, exterior of building and back of house areas, to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met
- Handle guest enquiries and comments and identify proper solutions in a timely and professional manner to ensure high level of guest satisfaction
- Be responsible for managing departmental budget and assist to control labour and operating expenses through effective planning, purchasing decisions and inventory control
- Ensure the supervision of contractors throughout the hotel and liaise with contract cleaners to ensure all schedules are met and areas cleaned to standard
- Be fully aware of and comply with all aspects of the health, safety and fire policy, service standards and operation procedures
- Identify departmental training needs and conduct trainings to the team
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department head
As Assistant Housekeeper, we expect from you:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in hospitality with at least 2 years in a similar positions
- Proficient in written and spoken English, knowledge of Chinese speaking would be an advantage
- Passionate about delivering exceptional guest service
- Pleasant, friendly and motivational with enthusiastic character
- With excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
