Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking leader to drive the performance and growth of our Currencies & Interest Rates Trading Department. This is a high-impact role responsible for shaping trading strategies, optimizing returns, and strengthening the Bank’s market position.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Bank’s foreign exchange (FX) and interest rate (IR) exposures, executing trading activities within approved mandates while ensuring disciplined and effective risk management
- Manage and support FX options and gold-related business, including pricing, structuring, and risk control
- Provide timely and competitive pricing to overseas branches and internal stakeholders, and deliver FX and gold margin trading services to customers
- Maintain strong governance and ensure proper control of dealing systems for authorized FX and IR products
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to enhance trading performance and support business growth initiatives
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to support broader treasury and client solutions
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Holder of relevant regulatory licenses including Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 4 (Advising on Securities), along with required ECF-TM Treasury qualifications
- Membership with the Treasury Markets Association and fulfillment of Enhanced Competency Framework on Treasury Management (ECF-TM) requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in financial markets or treasury, including at least 10 years in a senior supervisory or management capacity
- Proven track record in managing FX and/or interest rate trading within a commercial banking environment
- Strong product knowledge and hands-on experience in FX spot, swaps, options, and/or interest rate instruments such as IRS, CCS, and futures
- Solid understanding of broader financial markets, including commodities, fixed income, repo, and structured products
- Up-to-date knowledge of market developments and regulatory requirements
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua
