Business Function

Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of credit risk management strategies and policies to ensure the portfolio's risk profile is aligned with the bank's risk appetite
• Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and client behavior to identify potential risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks and optimize portfolio performance
• Collaborate with other teams within the Risk Management Group to ensure a holistic approach to risk management across the organization
• Provide credit approval recommendations and decisions for the Wealth Management portfolio, ensuring adherence to the bank's credit policies and procedures
• Mentor and develop the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Represent the team and the bank in external forums and industry events

Requirements

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in credit risk management, with a strong track record in the Private Banking or Wealth Management industry
• Demonstrated expertise in credit portfolio management, with a deep understanding of credit risk assessment, monitoring, and mitigation techniques
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
• Thorough understanding of the Wealth Management industry and the associated regulatory landscape
• Proven credit approval skills and the ability to make sound credit decisions
