Responsibilities

  • Establish, govern and continuously enhance the KLN Global HSSE governance framework, covering Occupational Health and Safety (HS), ISO Standards Compliance (S), and Environmental Sustainability (E), to ensure consistent implementation across all regions and business segments with growing footprints.
     
  • Serve as a core member of the Corporate HSSE Function, supporting enterprise-wide HSSE strategy execution, program governance, and cross-regional alignment.
     
  • Lead the design, implementation and governance of an AI-enabled Compliance Management System to replace manual compliance verification and strengthen assurance over HSSE hard rules.
     
  • Act as Corporate System Owner for the HSSE compliance platform, including configuration standards, access control, data governance and handover protocols to Regional HSSE Function Leads.
     
  • Develop, standardize and maintain HSSE policies, SOPs, audit protocols, compliance checklists and rule-based control mechanisms, ensuring alignment with regulatory, certification and internal control requirements.
     
  • Design and oversee a global train-the-trainer framework, ensuring consistent capability uplift across regions.
     
  • Plan, conduct and oversee internal HSSE compliance audits, including follow-up on corrective and preventive actions.
     
  • Manage and investigate non-compliance events, including root cause analysis, escalation, and remediation tracking.
     
  • Monitor, analyze and report HSSE compliance maturity, system adoption rates, audit outcomes and readiness for external certification or accreditation.
     
  • Coordinate corporate-level preparation for external certification, surveillance audits and assurance engagements.
     
  • Provide governance oversight to Regional HSSE Function Leads on group-wide HSSE initiatives, including emission reduction, renewable energy adoption and low-carbon transition programs.
     
  • Exercise financial stewardship over approved HSSE OPEX and CAPEX related to corporate initiatives.
     
  • Support corporate administration and ad-hoc HSSE initiatives as assigned by senior management.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
     
  • Postgraduate qualification in Safety, Environmental Management, ESG or Business Administration is an advantage.
     
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in integrated management system covering quality, supply chain security, health & safety, environmental management, risk assessment or audit functions, preferably within multinational environments.
     
  • Proven experience in corporate-level governance, policy development, SOP standardization and compliance assurance across multiple regions.
     
  • Hands-on experience in planning and conducting internal audits, managing non-compliance, and supporting external certification or surveillance audits.
     
  • Experience working with regional or cross-functional teams, providing governance oversight rather than purely operational execution.
     
  • Exposure to sustainability, emissions reduction, ESG or low-carbon initiatives is an advantage.
     
  • Holders of Lead Auditor certificates on the industrial applicable ISO standards.
     
  • Certified Safety Professional or equivalent.
     
  • Training or certification related to environmental management, sustainability or ESG, such as:
    -Carbon management or emissions reporting
    -Environmental impact assessment
    -ESG frameworks (e.g. CDP, IFRS, SBTi, Ecovadis awareness level)
     
  • Exposure or training in digital or system-enabled compliance tools, including:
    -Compliance management systems
    -Data analytics or AI-enabled governance solutions (advantage)
     
  • Train-the-trainer or instructional skills training is an advantage.
     
  • Sound knowledge of IMS compliance and audit requirements at corporate level.
     
  • Strong governance, risk and compliance oversight capability across regions.
     
  • Competent in internal audits, non-compliance management and corrective actions.
     
  • Good analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.
     
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
     
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and sound judgement.
     
  • Candidate with less experience or qualifications will be considered as Assistant Manager grade
