About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong within Engineering in Hong Kong, the Duty Engineer is responsible for carrying out repair and maintenance diagnostics and solve engineering problems encountered. The Duty Engineer reports to Engineering Manager.

As Duty Engineer, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Operate all engineering plants and machinery to ensure they run in good and optimum condition
• Supervise the technicians to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department
• Handle guest complaints on engineering aspects and carry out immediate effective and reasonable solutions
• Carry out both the operational and administrative duties. 
• Work collaboratively with other engineers and technical staff
• Be on-call to respond to emergencies related to engineering systems.
• Monitor inventory and ensure availability of necessary tools and materials
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks. Conduct safety audits and inspections regularly.

As Duty Engineer, we expect from you:

• Higher Diploma or Certificate in Building Services / Engineering
• Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience with similar position
• Holder of Electrical Worker License of Grade A or above and Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate are required
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Good command of spoken English and Chinese
• Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) would be an advantage.
