Financial Reporting Manager - Financial Control

Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for providing accounting services to subsidiaries and associations which do not maintain an independent accounting function, reporting the financial performance of associated companies and joint venture (“JV”) of the Bank and performing equity accounting.

Responsibilities

Accounting services for subsidiaries and associations

• review and approve the monthly financial statements for group consolidation purpose and for delivery to relevant contact officers’ review, relevant schedules, prepared by subordinates and accounting information to ensure the completeness and correctness
• prepare the budget / projection
• report to seniors the financial information / performance of subsidiaries
• ensure proper approval, avoid any duplicate payment and late payment in settlement of invoices
• review and approve the information input to accounting and finance systems

Associated companies and joint venture

• review the entries on equity accounting for group consolidation purpose
• report to seniors the financial information of associated companies and JV
• prepare the budget / projection

Requirements

• University graduate major in accounting or related discipline
• HKICPA or equivalent professional qualification
• Ideally over 5 years’ experience in banking / accounting covering the following:
  • At least 3 years’ experience at supervisory position in handling full sets of books and financial reporting
  • Preferably exposure in variety of industries including banking sector, and exposure in preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Sound knowledge in accounting standards and experience in performing equity accounting
  • A team leader with integrity, due care, good communication skills, management skills and risk awareness
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, fluent in Putonghua is preferable
