Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Operational Risk Management
- Execute the risk governance framework and processes for the bank to ensure risk management matters and incidents are properly tracked and monitored
- Develop, review and maintain operational and other non-financial risks related policies and frameworks.
- Execute the bank-wide implementation of a robust and effective operational risk and resilience framework, including methodology and tools, in line with the Bank’s risk appetite
- Execute the operational risk management programme and to function as an independent and objective body as 2nd line of defense to enable effective identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of operational risks in all functional areas
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of risk and control environment in Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Execute deep dive or thematic review over the key risk areas to identify control weakness
Risk Governance
- Co-ordinate with direct supervisor and the Chief Risk Officer to manage the agenda and logistics for the Operational Risk Working Group (ORWG) and Risk Management Committee (RMC).
- Assist the Head of RIsk Governance and Operational Risk to cover other risk governance related initiatives and coordination.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, finance or risk management required
- Five years or more in banking and internal control related experience
- Good knowledge of banking products in retail, corporate and treasury
- Good understanding of non-financial risk/operational risk, resilience and fraud risk.
- Professional certification in Operational Risk Management will be an advantage
- Good understanding of relevant Hong Kong banking regulatory requirements
- Strong problem-solving ability; analytical and critical thinking
- Open-minded; team player; willing to challenge status quo and run extra mile. Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English and Chinese, written and spoken.
