Assistant Vice President (Loan Guarantee Schemes – Special Assets Management)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals who want to lead the special assets management function for loan portfolios guaranteed under various loan guarantee schemes, oversees non-performing loans to minimise losses and maximise recovery for HKMC Insurance Limited (HKMCI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited.

Job Descriptions

• Formulate and implement recovery strategies for managing non-performing loans and distressed assets, and monitor the quality of special assets management and debt recovery actions carried out by participating lending institutions, including pursuing legal remedies against defaulted borrowers and personal guarantors;
• Lead a team to work independently in coordinating and facilitating debt workouts, and assessing debt workout or repayment proposals for completion in a timely and efficient manner;
• Provide supervisory support for team operations, augment team capabilities and improve the quality, efficiency, and precision of team operations by leveraging technologies from time to time;
• Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders and provide support for the administration of various loan guarantee schemes; and
• Undertake ad hoc assignments or projects from time to time.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above with major in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Analytics or related disciplines;
• A minimum of 10 years relevant working experiences in special assets management of commercial lending, including at least 5 years in management positions;
• Experience in driving business transformation, process improvement, and change management;
• Strong analytical and leadership skills, self-motivated, proactive and capable of self-directed learning, positive work attitude, detailed-minded, organised, good at teamwork and excellent communication and presentation skills;
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including both Cantonese and Putonghua; and
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Excel with capabilities to navigate the software, apply advanced formulas, perform data analysis, pivot table creation and manipulation, and conditional formatting, is an added advantage.
