Principal responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Merchant Relationship sub-team to achieve and exceed the business target.
- Develop and implement business strategies to expand the merchant base and ensure continued position as one of the leading merchant acquiring services providers in Hong Kong.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance merchant acquisition, activation, engagement and retention, leveraging data-driven insights and market analysis to identify business growth opportunities.
- Assist relevant teams to redesign merchant onboarding and KYC workflows, integrating advanced tools to accelerate the process.
- Assist relevant teams to streamline merchant service processes and improve merchant satisfaction.
- Adopt data analytics to track key metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management
- Ensure compliance and related control to minimize risk exposure.
- Monitor market trends and landscapes to identify new business opportunities
- Collaborate with various internal teams to resolve operational or technical inquiries raised by merchant
- Work closely with Usage team to support merchant promotion and stimulate card spending
Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or relevant qualifications.
- 8+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or payments, with 2+ years in a leadership role managing merchant acquiring business.
- Proven experience in problem solving and strategy planning.
- Experience engaging with clients or stakeholders to present an idea.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to support growth and optimization.
- Strategic thinking to develop and execute growth strategies and explore new business opportunities.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), to articulate solutions to merchants and stakeholders
- Customer-centric mindset with strong interpersonal skills to build relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.

- Technical proficiency in payment systems, API integrations, and cloud-based platforms; knowledge of Java, AWS, or similar is a plus.
