Position Overview
Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and visionary Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our commercial strategy. As a key member of the hotel's leadership committee, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive commercial plan to drive total hotel revenue, including rooms, food & beverage, and events.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who embodies the Hyatt Centric brand ethos of local exploration and authentic experiences. You will be the primary brand guardian, ensuring all sales and marketing initiatives tell a compelling story that connects our guests to the vibrant heart of North Point and drives our market leadership.
Core Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Revenue Management
- Develop, execute, and refine the annual hotel Revenue Plan, Marketing & Communications Plan, and departmental budget, ensuring alignment with the hotel's strategic objectives.
- Lead the hotel's total revenue management strategy, working closely with the Revenue Manager to optimize pricing, distribution, and inventory for all market segments.
- Utilize data analytics, market intelligence, and competitor analysis to make informed, data-driven decisions and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Provide accurate and timely forecasting for rooms, F&B, and events, presenting regular performance updates to the General Manager and hotel ownership.
2. Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the Sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets across all segments (Corporate, Leisure, MICE, Government, etc.).
- Establish and manage key client accounts, cultivate strategic business partnerships, and personally drive high-value sales opportunities.
- Direct the hotel's presence at key trade shows, industry events, and sales missions to represent the brand and secure new business.
- Rigorously monitor sales activities, conversion rates, and pipeline development, providing coaching and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
3. Integrated Marketing & Brand Stewardship
- Act as the hotel's lead brand champion, ensuring all marketing efforts and guest-facing communications are consistent with the Hyatt Centric brand promise and visual identity.
- Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy encompassing digital, social media, PR, and traditional channels.
- Drive the hotel's digital-first approach by working with Hyatt Hub Digital Marketing team, directing strategies for SEO/SEM, content marketing, social media engagement, influencer collaborations, and CRM/email marketing.
- Manage all public relations and communications efforts, fostering strong media relationships and proactively pitching compelling stories to enhance the hotel's public profile.
- Direct the production of all marketing collateral, ensuring high-quality design and adherence to brand standards.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and results-driven culture within the Sales & Marketing team.
- Set clear performance objectives (KPIs), provide regular feedback and coaching, and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Identify training needs and create development plans to nurture talent and support career growth within the team and the broader Hyatt organization.
- Champion a culture of creativity and continuous improvement, empowering the team to innovate and challenge the status quo.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related business field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Director or Assistant Director).
- Proven track record of success within a 5-star, lifestyle-branded hotel environment is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong hospitality market, including established relationships with key corporate clients, travel trade partners, and MICE organizers.
- Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, revenue management, and budget creation and management.
- Proficiency with hotel systems, including PMS, Sales & Catering systems (e.g., Envision), and CRM platforms.
