Job Summary
This job holder is responsible for leveraging data analytics skills alongside banking knowledge to support the implementation of WBG’s business strategy, portfolio risk monitoring, audit management, project-related tasks, and other ad-hoc assignments. The individual in this role is also expected to assist in the business planning process by conducting financial projections, tracking sales metrics, and providing insights on data analysis and business updates.
What You Will Be Doing
Data analytics
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide data insight and analytic support in setting data driven strategy and decision
- Create, maintain and monitor dashboards for tracking of business performance and effectiveness
- Generate business and credit related data to perform business analysis and prepare for insightful decision
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators using data-driven approach to measure and drive the success of initiatives, perform analyses with actionable insights, and provide regular reporting to senior management
- Serve as a subject matter expert in data to address the increasing demands from business and requests from other divisions and regulatory bodies.
- Streamline and automate internal process to ensure efficient and effective data generation and analytics processes are in place
- Develop advanced analytics, with AI and machine learning capability, to streamline existing process and improve sales momentum
- Prepare and provide regular MI reports, progress updates and meeting materials to management on a timely basis and work closely with relevant functions (both internal & external parties) to meet the required deadline
Business Planning
- Monitor financial performance and product profitability, while conducting customer data analysis to enhance business performance and achieve annual targets
- Assist in preparation of operational plans, forecasts, and financial budget to ensure that the strategies of Wholesale Banking align with the bank’s overall objectives
- Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations for yield optimization
- Support business planning work e.g. reporting to Group / ALCO to understand the business performance
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business / finance / data science related discipline
- Minimum 5 - 8 years of relevant banking experience
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Strong programming and coding skill especially SAS, Python, VBA, and building dashboard by using PowerBI or any equivalent tools would be an advantage
- In-depth understanding and experience in the financial or banking sector
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with capability to connect market trends, business performance drivers and internal data with strategic implications
- Presentable and analytical with excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset
- Self-motivated, creative, articulate, and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a "can-do" attitude, well-organized and able to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
