Vice President, Operational Risk Management

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Head of Operational & IT Risk Management Department, lead the Operational Risk Management Team as the second line of defence of the Bank to drive and promote the continuous enhancement of the Bank’s operational risk management and internal controls
• Formulate and update the Bank's policies and procedures concerning operational risk management
• Design and implement the risk assessment methodologies and risk reporting systems
• Perform reviews and/or investigation into operational risk incidents to identify root causes, provide advices on the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls established by first line of defence from operational risk management perspective, and recommend enhancement measures
• Plan and coordinate with relevant units necessary measures for ensuring compliance with requirements in relation to Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Operational Resilience
• Perform regular control assurance reviews to ensure the established risk mitigating controls and measures are effectively and consistently implemented
• Compile operational risk management related information and reports as requested by management, committees, regulatory bodies, auditors, etc.
• Promote the operational risk management culture within the Bank and enhance staff awareness
• Conduct ad hoc tasks assigned by management as and when required

Requirements:

• Degree holder or above in Risk Management or other related disciplines
• Holder of ECF on Operational Risk Management certification (CORP) is preferred
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in operational risk management or internal control within banking industry, consulting firms or regulators of which at least 5 years at supervisory level
• Knowledgeable in banking operations and well-versed in regulatory requirements applicable to operational risk management including HKMA SPM OR-1, OR-2, SA-2, etc.
• Good presentation and business writing skills in English and Chinese
• Good time management and ability to work independently
