JOB SUMMARY
As a Performance, Reward, and Benefits Payroll Specialist at Standard Chartered, you’ll support the Head of Payroll Group Processes in delivering the payroll agenda, managing risk and governance, vendor contract management (including both payroll and international mobility contracts), and facilitating changes across payroll processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enhance the quality and efficiency of payroll operations.
Collaborate with HR delivery teams, payroll operations, technology squads, and vendors.
Monitor governance and performance trends through business reviews.
Maintain supplier relationships and resolve critical issues by escalating to senior management.
Identify processes for alignment and centralisation into hubs or group payroll systems.
Manage operational risk and governance for payroll processes.
Partner with Group Operational Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure valid contracts and risk assessments for vendors.
Address issues arising from risk/compliance reviews and reinforce payroll controls.
Review and update control designs following the bank’s framework.
Oversee internal and external audits.
Embed high ethical standards and compliance within payroll operations.
Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and the Group Code of Conduct.
Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve risks related to conduct and compliance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Over 7 years of experience in payroll
Experience working in an international reward function, including the delivery of core HR products and processes such as payroll and benefits
Experience in managing large, complex, cross-geography projects
Focus on maintaining high standards, quality, and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks within a complex structure and achieve business outcomes
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Strong analytical and numerical abilities
