Director of Engineering

We are looking for a Director of Engineering based at Kerry Hotel Hong Kong!

As a Director of Engineering, we rely on you to:

• Responsible for supervising the Engineering team to ensure day-to-day operations, with particular attention to safety, security and asset protection
• Lead renovation and construction projects, ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
• Manage the operation, maintenance, upgrade, and installation of all building systems, including but not limited to electrical, air conditioning and ventilation, sanitary systems, plumbing systems, and audio system in alignment with the related policies of fire, life and safety
• Lead and manage a team of technicians and handymen to ensure that daily operation matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met, by ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing
• Provide technical solution and troubleshooting analysis to improve performance and reliability of products
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the property to anticipate and rectify any engineering-related issues
• Monitor and ensure the quality of performance and workmanship of both outsourced and in-house repair and maintenance works
• Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure, projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation
• Lead the emergency response team for all hotel facilities issues
• Ensures that building and equipment licenses, permits, and certifications are current
• Follow the required Engineering audits
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Building Services, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; preferably a Chartered Engineer
• A proven background and experience as Director of Engineering (Head of Engineering) in a large-scale luxury hotel
• Preferably experience in managing various projects in related to facilities enhancement / renovation
• A strong and hands-on leader with proven ability to manage various stakeholders
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with excellent communication skills
