We are looking for a Construction Manager based at JEN Hong Kong by Shangri-La!
As a Construction Manager, we rely on you to:
- Oversee the planning and execution of the renovation works; monitor progress, cost and quality according to tenders, compliances and regulatory standards
- Acting as the Client on site representative to drive the processes throughout construction to handover stage; day to day management and monitoring of the performance of contractors and quality of services of consultants and vendors
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders including end users, consultants, government authorities, contractors, suppliers and corporate office on all matters related to the projects
- Manage operator / end users relations to minimize disruption during renovation
- Review and administration of contractors’ submissions and proposals with input from design consultants and corporate office
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure works adhere to safety standards, approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Prepare progress reports, flag / highlight critical issues and table solutions for approval
- Review and issue site instructions and variation orders according to standard procedure
- Assessing and recommending progress payment for consultants and contractors
- Manage project close out including the snagging and handover process and ensuring full set of as built drawings / O&M manuals / warranty documentation are in place and handed over to end users
- Maintaining complete set of on-site records for effective cost control and for final account purposes
We are looking for someone who has:
- Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Surveying or equivalent field; discipline-related professional membership is advantageous
- Minimum 10 – 12 years relevant experience in construction / renovation project management, preferably in hotel or high-end commercial renovation projects in HK
- Experience with local building codes, hotel licensing submissions, Standard Form of Building Contract
- Understanding of local construction practices & labour dynamics
- Proficiency in time and cost control, handling variations, delays, and claims from contractors / suppliers
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Communication and negotiation skills to balance competing stakeholders’ requirements within timeline and budget constraints
- Experience in leading a team of managerial / technical staff
- Fluent in spoken and written English & Cantonese
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD (for reviewing drawings)
