About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Engineering Department in Hong Kong, the Duty Technician is responsible for operating plants and machinery and carrying out immediate repairs, offering engineering assistance to other departments. The Duty Technician reports to the Duty Engineer.

As Duty Technician, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Operate, inspect, repair and maintain boiler plant, calorifier and steam supply system.
• Operate, inspect, repair and maintain all other plants and machineries such as chilled water pumps, sea water pumps as instructed by the Duty Engineer during the shift
• Assist the Duty Engineer solve any engineering problems or guest complaints regarding engineering equipment
• Maintain a safe, clean, neat and organized workplace and plant.

As Duty Technician, we expect from you:

• Minimum higher certificate holder in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines
• Holder of electrical worker license, Grade 'A' will be an advantage
• Holder of Fire Tube Boiler License, with Engineering plants and boiler knowledge will be an advantage
• Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience
• Basic computer skill
• Good spoken and written Chinese / Cantonese and basic English
• Independent and able to work under pressure
