The Assistant Banquet Manager supports the Banquet Manager in overseeing and managing banquet and private event operations. This role involves supervising banquet facilities, planning activities, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting servers and hosts on the floor during events. Additionally, this position will play a pivotal role in implementing on-the-job training plans and identifying areas for improvement.
Job Description
- Supervise all banquet employees for performance, member and guest experience, appearance and attendance
- Act as Duty Manager during shifts and process checklists for successful operations and End of Day Reports
- Ensure the team are on time and that each shift has adequate staffing levels. Flag up any shortfalls due to sick leave, non-arrivals or lateness to Manager or DoF&B
- Maintain an exceptional service standard and ensures these standards meet and exceed the expectations of the Members on a daily basis. Follow SOP’s and works with team in training and refreshing of SOP’s
- Build and develop strong relationships with all Members, BOG and committee Members
- Ensure administrative and operational tasks are completed in a timely manner and consistently look for ways to improve business and service standards
- Maintain a strong relationship with the kitchen and chefs and ensure regular and effective communication with BOH teams
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager or Management Team
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma
- 8+ years’ experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
- Good spoken English
