We are looking for an Assistant Chief Steward based at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong!
As an Assistant Chief Steward, we rely on you to:
- Assist Head of Department to ensure effective and efficient operation of the Stewarding Department including supervision of cleaning processes, stock control and maintenance of health, safety and hygiene in all F&B areas
- Be responsible for the planning, organizing and implementing the quarterly inventory count and ensure accurate tabulation of all losses / breakage and proposes the purchase of all operating equipment
- Ensure communication takes place in the department by keeping staff informed of all hotel activities, guest comments and keeping senior management informed of all issues and concerns
- Liaise with the local Health Ministry on all environment issues and keep relevant stakeholders and parties informed
- Supervise burnishing of silverware / kitchen cleaning / garbage disposal and provide on-floor support to the team
- Be environmentally friendly, reduce waste, recycle when possible, and reuse whenever applicable
- Perform any other duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisors
We are looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Hospitality or Catering Group; 3 years in similar capacity or in supervisory level
- Sound knowledge of food hygiene and safety of workplace in compliance with the HACCP and the standard of the Hotel
- Well versed in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing
- Sound leadership skill and strong teamwork
- Good command of English and Cantonese
