Pastry Demi Chef

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
  • Prepare a variety of pastries/cakes
  • Decorate and present pastries in a tasteful and presentable way
  • Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
  • Ensure the pastry section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
  • Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them
  • Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Partie cook or equivalent
  • Clear culinary career progression from qualification to entry level position
  • Strong understanding of a variety of pastry/cake techniques
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
