SVP, Credit Risk Expert

Responsibilities:

• As a Credit Risk Expert in the Credit Risk Management Division, to conduct credit review and provide approval recommendations on various large and complex credit applications for senior executive approval
• Review and approve credit lending proposals within delegated authority to ensure that the bank’s credit offering is in compliance with bank’s policies, procedures and risk appetite, and conduct post-lending management for identified at-risk cases
• Work with credit teams in Mainland China and attend Mainland’s credit approval committee meetings for cross-border credit applications
• Assist in enhancing the credit analysis capabilities of the front and middle offices by suggesting improvements in daily business processes, provide recommendations or appropriate training to concerned staff to enhance and cultivate credit risk culture
• Attend regular risk warning and credit management meetings and provide input on credit related policies and procedures

Requirements:

• University graduate, preferably with a Master’s degree in business related discipline
• Holder of ECF Certification on Credit Risk Management (CCRP(CPM)), and preferably a CFA and/or FRM
• Minimum 15 years of experience in corporate credit with senior approval authority in banks, including at least 5 years’ experience in supervisory role
• Thorough knowledge of credit environment and market practices in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and understanding of commercial and corporate banking credit products, risk mitigation techniques and related regulatory requirements
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to liaise and negotiate appropriate credit solutions with business units and customers
• Good communication skills with high proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese including Mandarin
