Responsibilities:
- Assist AXA HK Head of Investment in managing the company's General Accounts portfolios - the selected candidate will have exposure to liquid equity & debt strategies, alternatives & sophisticated derivative strategies (both systematic and tactical).
- Provide critical analysis of investment strategies (related to listed equities in particular, but not limited to this asset class) and assess potential balance sheet impacts (across all relevant dimensions incl. Solvency, Risk, Accounting, Liquidity, etc.).
- Perform regular performance review and assessment (including due diligence) on existing investment strategies and fund managers.
- Play a leading role in new fund guidelines/mandate subscription including preparation of relevant materials for AXA HK Investment Committee.
- Take responsibility for KYC requests related to banking relationships and alternative asset funds.
- Support internal control activities to ensure investments are aligned with Group standards and policies.
Qualifications:
- Degree holder (from a reputable university with specialization in finance, risk management, actuarial or accounting disciplines) and/or qualified/studying towards industry standard financial examinations.
- Technical competence in spreadsheet modeling and strong quantitative financial skills.
- Ideally 2-3 years working experience in investment or insurance sectors with a major financial institution.
- Ideally with experience analyzing equity mandate performance and exposure.
- Ideally with experience related to fund subscription & KYC processes.
- Extensive familiarity with Excel is a must. Python/VBA scripting experience is preferred. Experience using financial information systems (e.g. Bloomberg) is preferred.
- Fluent English verbal and written.
