Head of Underwriting, Reinsurance and Business Development - Chong Hing Insurance Company Limited

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and manage general insurance business for commercial and personal lines as well as handle enquiry with broker, agency and agent
• Oversee the Underwriting Department on new and renewal business in a manner which is compliant with regulatory and internal guidelines, policies & procedures
• Assist to handle and support the reinsurance business matters
• Formulate and implement strategic plan according to company direction
• Provide technical support on product development and system reporting
• Achieve business goals with underwriting profits according to management direction
• Develop and explore new business opportunities and cross selling through Chong Hing Bank branches, corporate teams and broker sources
• Keep up to date on all regulatory changes which may have impact on the business
• Manage the operation of the Underwriting and Business Development Department in high standard and comply with regulatory requirements
• Oversee the insurance intermediaries activities
• Participate in ad hoc projects and system UAT

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Business Administration or related disciplines
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in General Insurance preferably in Bancassurance, with at least 5 years in supervisory role
• Professional qualification in General Insurance such as ACII, ANZIFF will be an advantage
• Sound knowledge of General Insurance products and good understanding of market trend in General Insurance industry
• Self-motivated, sales driven, customer centric minded and able to work under pressure
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
