Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (‘Hang Seng Indexes Company’) manages and compiles the Hang Seng Family of Indexes, which cover stocks listed in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Our index series includes the Hang Seng Index, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index and the Hang Seng TECH Index, as well as Stock Connect, Greater Bay Area and sector-related indexes. As at the end of 2021, assets under management in products passively tracking indexes in the Hang Seng Family of Indexes had reached a total of about US$44 billion.

We are currently seeking high calibre professionals to join our Research team as Equity Index Manager.

Principal responsibilities

• Execute the development and ongoing enhancement of Hang Seng Indexes (“HSIL”) equity indices, including support on new index concept validation, conducting backtesting and comprehensive assessments
• Upkeep the methodology and quality of HSIL equity indices, performing methodology reviews to ensure quality and robustness, address regulatory changes and governance
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored index solutions that address evolving market needs.
• Support governance activities to maintain robust index management and compliance with industry standards.
• Contribute to organisation-wide projects related to index product pricing, packaging, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Assist in forward-looking strategic and innovative projects if necessary

Requirements

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, or related disciplines.
• Proven years of experience in the financial services industry, with experience in index-related roles preferred
• Strong ownership and responsibility on job and drive them to completion.
• Client-centric, detail-oriented, organised, with strong teamwork spirit.
• Good communication skills for engaging both internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Experience with Excel /VBA /Python /SQL and Bloomberg /Refinitiv /Factset /Wind
• Proficiency in Putonghua, English, and Cantonese.
• Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage
