As the Security Manager, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our guests, colleagues, and assets. You will lead a dedicated security team, develop robust security protocols, and act as a key partner in ensuring the hotel operates safely and efficiently, adhering to the highest standards of IHG and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the hotel security team to ensure the highest levels of safety and security for all guests, staff, and hotel property.
- Develop, implement, and continuously review effective preventative measures and strategies to deter potential criminal activity and security breaches.
- Oversee systematic scheduled patrols, spot checks, and comprehensive CCTV monitoring to proactively identify, report, and eliminate potential safety and security hazards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and partner closely with the Manager-on-Duty to effectively execute emergency action plans for incidents, including fire, flooding, elevator entrapment, medical emergencies, work injuries, etc.
- Plan and deploy security resources effectively to manage risks and ensure orderly crowd control during special events, functions, and high-occupancy periods within the hotel.
- Foster and maintain strong, cooperative working relationships with the Hong Kong Police Force and other relevant authorities for crime prevention, information sharing, and incident response.
- Spearhead the hotel's Risk Management Committee, regularly evaluating the effectiveness of existing security measures, identifying emerging threats, and keeping senior management informed of risks, new statutory requirements, and necessary strategic adjustments.
- Conduct regular on-the-job training for security personnel and all relevant hotel staff. Develop, review, and update comprehensive Security Policies, Procedures, and Emergency Response Plans to continuously enhance the hotel's security management system.
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma or above in Security Management, Risk Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of solid experience in security operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a hotel or large hospitality/service environment. Proven experience in emergency response planning and execution is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong laws, ordinances, and statutory requirements relevant to hotel security, safety, and risk management.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive incident reports.
- Professional integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Good command of Microsoft Office and a thorough understanding of modern security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems).
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Cantonese. Proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage.
- Possess related security / safety-related licences, such as SPP, CISTC, valid first aid and CPR certifications, fire safety management (advantageous), etc
