Manager, Underwriting (General Insurance)

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to achieve the business performance goals of the department including gross written premium budget, underwriting profit, commission budget

• Provide technical support to business development team including underwriting, reinsurance arrangement, product design & revamp, pricing guidelines, quotation formats, product knowledge, and risk management

• Provide rates and terms to business development team and update underwriting guidelines when necessary

• Review and update Operations Procedure Manuals, AML Policies, department policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with the relevant laws, regulations, codes and guidelines

• Design and execute personal line products promotion particularly online sales

• Arrange treaty, facultative reinsurance arrangement, pre-renewal underwriting and revise renewal notices

• Assist in product design & revamp, leaflet revamp, etc.

• Perform projects and/or ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisor

 Requirements:

• Degree holder in Finance, Accounting or related discipline

• Associateship of Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) and/or Senior Associateship of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance & finance (ANZIIF)

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in underwriting area of general insurance

• Sound knowledge in general insurance products and related system

• Self-motivated and attention to details with strong interpersonal and communications skills

• Demonstrated a good team player and customer-oriented

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

• Proficient in MS Office applications
