Financial Reporting Officer - Financial Control

Position Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for preparation of management accounts / reports / analysis and respective financial reporting schedules for month-end closing and audit purpose, as well as other management reports on timely basis as requested by the Top Management, major shareholders and regulatory authorities. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and reports of respective entities for month-end closing purpose
• Prepare respective schedules for statutory audit and other purposes
• Prepare any ad hoc and regular financial analysis/statutory reports, board meeting materials and other management reports on timely basis as requested by the Top Management, major shareholders of the Bank, and regulatory authorities
• Prepare any financial information as requested by both external and internal auditors
• Ensure the management reports and schedules are correctly compiled from the general ledgers and other financial records / system reports, where appropriate
• Perform reconciliation of inter-company accounts
• Analyse and explain material variances on the management accounts of branches and subsidiaries
• Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity
• Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work

Requirements

• Preferably university graduate in Accounting or Finance
• Semi-qualified accountant / finalist of HKICPA Qualification Program or equivalent
• Preferable over 2 years’ experience in banking sector cover the following:
  • Good knowledge and experience in handling full set of books
  • Experience in preparing audit schedules for annual / interim disclosure purpose
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience in PeopleSoft / Oracle Financial is an advantage
• A team player with good communication skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, fluent in Putonghua is preferable
