Business Function

Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitoring and Margin Call process:
  • Daily monitoring of collateral shortfalls and limit excesses.
  • Analyzing system-generated reports to identify, justify and appropriately documenting of technical shortfall cases.
  • Following up with FO on real shortfall cases at "Top-Up" or "Sell-Out" levels promptly and issuing margin call letters and other notifications accordingly.
  • Tracking the aging of overdue facilities, limit excess and shortfall cases.
  • Documenting approvals for extensions of shortfall and limit excess. Monitoring regularization plans and ensuring adherence to approved timelines.

• Reporting and Escalation:
  • Providing summary reports of collateral shortfall cases to management teams for timely rectification.
  • Alerting ECRM and senior management about "High Alert" cases on an ad-hoc basis or through monthly GCRC reporting.
  • Escalating unsecured exposure in employee or connected party accounts that exceed specified thresholds.
• Policy and Guidelines Management:
  • Reviewing relevant guidelines and updating them (with appropriate approvals)

Requirements

• University graduate in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or other related disciplines, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in credit control and monitoring, preferably related to Private Banking credit.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong excel knowledge and/orAvaloqsystem would be an advantage.
• Attention to Detail: Critical for accurate monitoring and documentation.
• Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, for effective interaction with RMs, and other internal stakeholders.
