Non-Financial Risk Management and Programme Management will lead or take ownership of bank wide non-financial risk related activities, supporting Leadership positions and Business Heads with non-BAU activities, cyclical work pieces such as Annual Reporting of Risk assessments, Regulatory and Compliance initiatives, and any other short term business agendas. They are in BAU teams and would report to a Global, Regional, Country or Business Head and may have direct reports.
This position is not client facing and does not have any portfolios. Those employees fulfilling a Business Administration, Operational Management, Risk Management and Project Management role are expected to possess knowledge of financial budgeting, strategic planning, communication, people management, project management and risk & control management processes in the context of the business area they are located in.

Principal responsibilities
Risk & Control Management
- Supporting the coordination and operations of Non-Financial Risk Managements and provide ongoing monitoring and governance supports over control effectiveness across GBGFs.
- Driving and leading bank-wide Risk assessment exercises and hold responsibility for management reporting to both HASE and HSBC stakeholders.
- Conducting Risk and Control Assessments for CEO delegated risks and coordinate remediations with SLODs and FLODs to ensure controls remain effective.
- Ensure that all relevant control measures are undertaken to minimize the risk exposure of the Bank by adhering to HASE internal control systems and HSBC Policy/ Standards. This includes the timely implementation of action items addressing internal and external audit points, as well as any issues raised by the external regulators.
- Support the deployment of the Non-financial Risk Management framework and ensure policies and procedures are well established and implemented across the Bank.
- Investigating and seeking remedies for discrete issues which may be adversely affecting the Bank’s performance.
Project Management
- Co-ordinating and managing change agendas; typically working on large, moderately complex projects/assignments related to risk and control initiatives.
- Overseeing the execution of business initiatives and activities in support of business area aims.
- Influencing the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes.
- Driving project delivery proactively, balancing planning, scope, schedule, budget, communications and risks.
- Managing and planning resources, responsibilities and schedules.
- Establishing effective project controls and procedures and quality assurance processes.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project or programme leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making, in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits ealization.
- Providing management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC.
- Driving the adoption of HSBC project standards and working in alignment with HSBC project methodology at all times.
- Leading the team to meet performance targets aligned to objectives.
Requirements
- University graduate in Business and Administration.
- Over 8+ years solid experience in relevant industry, preferably in Banking and Finance.
- Possess knowledge in Business Management, Operation Management, Risk Management, Control Management and Project & Program Management.
- Preferably have prior experience in Control Office and held FLOD related position.
- Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for junior role.
