Job Title: Cargo Insurance Sales Broker

Job Overview:
As a Marine (Cargo & Liability) Insurance Sales/Producing Broker, you will be responsible for generating and managing a portfolio of clients seeking marine insurance coverage for their shipments. You will play a crucial role in analyzing client needs, sourcing appropriate insurance solutions, and providing expert guidance to ensure the protection of their goods throughout the transportation process. This position requires a strong understanding of the insurance industry, excellent sales and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and identify potential clients in need of cargo insurance coverage.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of contacts within the shipping, logistics, and transportation industries.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of client requirements and analyze their cargo/liability insurance needs.
  • Present and explain insurance policies, terms, and conditions to clients, ensuring they understand the coverage and benefits.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on risk assessment, loss prevention, and claims management.
  • Collaborate with insurance underwriters to negotiate policy terms and secure competitive rates for clients.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive insurance proposals and presentations to clients.
  • Handle client inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely and accurate information.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting cargo insurance.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, insurance policies, and sales activities in a CRM system.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals set by the company.
  • Foster and nurture long-term relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as claims specialists and customer service representatives, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company's services and expand the client base.
