Director of Event Planning

Hopewell Hotel (Wanchai) Management Limited

Responsibilities:

  • In-charge of daily events operations with excellent service quality
  • Approve event orders, proposals, floor plans, etc. and ensure all information are allied with sales contract as well as government ordinances
  • Make recommendations to Sales team on the event schedules so as to enhance / strike the balance between all stakeholders
  • Lead the Event Planning team and provide on-the-job training to team members
  • Check and ensure all venues are set up are in good order before the arrival of the organizers
  • Greet organizers upon their arrival and ensure smooth operations during events
  • Lead the regular event operations meeting with other related teams (e.g. Banquet Operations and Kitchen)
  • Coordinate all move-in and move-out activities with organizers, outside vendors and suppliers
  • Work with Security team closely to ensure the safety of all venues
  • Ensure effective event turnover and to maximize the utilization of all venues
  • Upsell event services to maximize sales revenue
  • Ensure client satisfaction and play a key role on securing and maximizing repeated/recurrent business

Requirements:

  • High diploma or above in related disciplines, preferably in Hotel Management/Events Management
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in Event Planning, preferably in hotel industry
  • Strong leadership skill, communication skill and interpersonal skill
  • Responsible and detail-minded
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, e.g. Excel and Word 
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Director of Event Planning
