RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain a wine list fitting the outlet concept and clientele.
  • Manage wine cellar and ensure it is fully stocked.
  • Conduct training on wine and other beverages through tastings, classroom training, and best-practice sharing.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and have a great understanding of wine, port and other fortified wines.
  • Communicate with the staff, management, suppliers and the clientele.
  • Share his or her knowledge with the staff and guests in a confident and professional manner.
  • Recommend a food and wine pairings for Italian cuisine.
  • Provide an extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce.
  • Provide friendly tentative service to guest and must respond to guests’ enquiries, requests and complaints promptly.
  • Responsible for ensuring that cellar run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Make sure all policies & procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to recommend wines to patrons and improve profits in order to meet financial targets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary education from Hospitality / Business Management or related disciplines.
  • Certification as a Sommelier (WSET etc.) or degree in hospitality is a plus.
  • Proficiency in speak and written Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
  • 3-4 years’ relevant experience in F&B industry, or in Forbes restaurant is an advantage.
  • Proven food and beverage management experience; general understanding of hotel operations; Communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer e.g. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
