JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- As part of the Kitchen Management Team your primary role is to assist the Executive Chef and Senior Sous Chef in the management of the hotel's Western Kitchen operation
- Have a working knowledge of various sections/specialties within western kitchen and be able to step in / fix / troubleshoot / provide constructive feedback when required
- Monitor food production and maintain a high standard of food quality
- Keep aware of food trends, systems, practices and regularly contribute new ideas and new menu items
- Maintain a positive work environment, build team spirit and encourage effective communication. Maintain positive interactions and good working relationships between colleagues, other departments and guests
- Ensure a high standard of kitchen hygiene and food safety
- Arrange work schedules and organize work in kitchen. Assign specific duties to all employees under supervision. Identify training opportunities and seek to develop and improve employees skills
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE
- Minimum 8-10 years solid experience in international hotels and/or reputable restaurants
- Good knowledge of Western and Asian Cuisine
- Qualification in commercial cookery
- Passionate about F&B, motivated and love what you do
- A desire to create and introduce new ideas
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. A good team player and role model
- Able to maintain a positive disposition
- Strong belief in kitchen hygiene and the ability to uphold food safety standards
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
