Lead Programme Facilitator

Lead Programme Facilitator involves delivering programs, assisting with their planning and preparation, and helping with the evaluation and quality improvement. They work with, and mentor, assistant program facilitators. They may also work with program facilitators and managers. Individuals in this position are experienced outdoor leaders, they are professional, and they make quality decisions.

 

Major Duties:

  • To be responsible for the care and wellbeing of clients during programs.
  • To coordinate and perform outdoor training duties, such as corporate training, educational day camps, adventure-based education and experiential learning program for diverse groups and individuals; 
  • To provide support in program development and operations including guiding and maintaining of training facilities and equipment;
  • To perform duties in relation to programme administration including maintaining records, preparing training materials and designing outdoor educational programme activities;
  • To carry out duties in relation to coordination, promotion and administrative work for different training programmes;
  • To prepare and update safety instructions;
  • To implement quality assurance policies and maintain safety control measures during training;
  • To take up other duties as assigned by Programme Manager.

 

Job Requirements:

  • A recognized higher diploma or certificate in a relevant field, preferably in experiential learning/outdoor adventure training/social work/education/sports and recreation training, or equivalent;
  • At least 2 years' experience in front line programming and at least 1 year in a lead role (i.e. 1 year assistant, 1 year lead);
  • At least 2 professional certifications from the following organization/authorities: kayaking, SUP, hiking/camping, team building, PADI Divemaster (or higher), sport climbing, abseiling, coasteering, or gorge walking;
  • Valid first-aid certificate and CPR/AED;
  • Good knowledge of basic computer applications;
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge in Putonghua;
  • Work independently, demonstrate a sense of responsibility and be a good team player;
  • Other relevant professional qualification/ certificate such as sport climbing and mountain craft coaching would be an advantage.

Notes:

  • Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Job Requirements above but possessing relevant work experience for work training experience in the relevant field may also apply. (6 years for Lead Program Facilitator)
  • The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours.
